Details

The race will happen rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Please first report to the Welcome Desk in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex to get your free shirt, volunteer lanyard and your specific assignment. Please check in no later than 7:30 a.m. so you will have time to get to your location by 8:10 a.m.

At 8:15 a.m., pull your barricade or cones into place and stop all vehicles attempting to drive on the course. Kindly but firmly explain that a race is in progress and motorists will have to wait in order to ensure a safe course for the runners. We'll provide you with a campus map to explain detours to drivers, where applicable. Be sure to cheer on the runners as they go by! Campus Safety will follow the last walker and release you from your post. Don't leave your post until you're released!

Before the race begins, make sure any cones blocking the roadway are removed. Immediately after the race starts be ready to help at the Finish Line and assist the emcee/Jeff Haverdink, who will be announcing names as runners and walkers finish.

Details

Please first report to the Welcome Desk in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex to get your free shirt, volunteer lanyard. Then either proceed to the tables that will be set up on the side of the road near Knollcrest Dining Hall or the CFAC hill near the east patio. Cups and water jugs will be provided. Please pre-fill as many cups as possible so that you are ready when the runners come by just after 8:30 a.m. Competitive runners will not take any water, but young children and walkers will want water. Please stay until the last walker has gone by. Then pick up the used cups and put in the trash can that will be set near the tables. The large water jugs can be returned to the Fieldhouse Welcome Desk.
