On-Course Volunteers

Waterstop Team

April 4, 2026

Details

Join our waterstop team! There are two waterstops: 5K & Half Marathon. Each team will have 2-3 volunteers:

Waterstop volunteers will work as a team to
• Set up the waterstop
• Make sure the runners stay hydrated
• Cheer for the runners
• Take pictures of the runners
• Answer runner questions
• Break down the waterstop and clean up the area.

*5K Waterstop:
• 7:00 AM - 9:30 AM
• fast-paced experience.

*Half-Marathon Waterstop
• 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
• Slow-paced interaction with the runners
• Bring a book or make sure your phone is charged

Location

All volunteers will check in at the race site to get their volunteer shirts, pick up any supplies they'll need, and get a map to their on-course assignment.
All volunteers should check out at the race site to return any supplies they checked out, to get their 'Thank You' swag bag, and to enjoy the refreshment tables!

Course Marshall: 5K Turn-Around Medium Priority

Details

Volunteers at the 5K Turnaround will work as a team to:
• Ensure runners stay on course
• Keep runners safe
• Cheer runners on

Location

All volunteers will check in at the race site to get their volunteer shirts, pick up any supplies they'll need, and get a map to their on-course assignment.
All volunteers should check out at the race site, to return any supplies they checked out, to get their 'Thank You' swag bag, and to enjoy the refreshment tables!

Course Support (aka Bunny on a Bike)

Details

• Ride your bike on the course to keep an eye on runners
• This position acts as a course sweep. You’ll use your phone to coordinate with the timing team
• Willingness to wear ears & a tail is a plus!

Gateway Park Team

Race Day Packet Pickup Medium Priority

April 4, 2026

Details

• This team will work with the Packet Pickup Lead to hand out race packets and tee shirts
• This team will work with the Race Director to handle race-day registrations and answer questions

This position will remain at the race start/finish location.

Runner Area & Start/Finish Line

April 4, 2026

Details

The Runner Area Team waves their magic wands to make it all happen!
• They are responsible for setting up and breaking down timing, tents, and tables.
• They are responsible for giving out finisher medals, stocking the refreshment tables, and awarding the winners

Location

This position will remain at the race start/finish location.

Timing Assistant

April 4, 2026

Details

• Point finishing runners into the finishing chute and then to the Runner Area
• Point runners who are turning around into the turn-around chute, and back onto the course
• Keep spectators out of the finish area.

Logistics Team

Pre-race tasks

April 3, 2026

Details

Tasks include:
• Packet stuffing
• Attaching ribbons to medals
• Organizing shirts
• Organizing signs
• etc

Location

WRATH Racing HQ (Bedford)

Course Setup team

April 4, 2026

Details

• Work in small teams to put out turn signs, motivational signs and course decorations
• Drop off waterstop supplies prior to arrival of the waterstop volunteers
• Course will be marked with chalk the night before
• This position is mostly in the dark. Headlamps highly recommended
-Requires driving, lifting, and potentially pulling a wagon

Volunteer & Run

Pre-race Packet Pickup Medium Priority

Details

Do you want to volunteer, then run the 10K for free? Pre-race Packet Pickup volunteers will assist the Race Director and Packet Pickup Lead with early packet pickup

• The team will work together to set up the packet pickup area, Some lifting involved
• Volunteers will assist the Packet Pickup lead by retrieving shirts, swag bags, etc
• Volunteers may assist with making additional swag bags
• The team will break down the packet pickup area

Start/Finish Setup & Run Medium Priority

Details

Do you want to volunteer, then run the 5K for free? Then sign up for this slot.
Once you check in, you could be doing any of the volunteer slots at the start/finish: setting up the timing area, hanging banners, coning, putting out motivational signs, or pitching in to help with packet pickup!
