Issaquah Turkey Trot 5K
The Issaquah Turkey Trot is hosted by and benefits the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank, a local organization in the Issaquah community. The mission of the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank is to unite our community in nourishing and nurturing individuals by removing barriers to healthy food, vital resources, and connections to essential services.
Funds raised from Issaquah Turkey Trot help provide resources and services at no charge. Your participation and donations can help those experiencing food insecurity!
Race Location
The Issaquah Turkey Trot start and finish line is located at the intersection of 1st Ave SE and SE Bush St, right next to the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank! The route trots through the heart of picturesque downtown Issaquah, with views of beautiful mountains and historic Front Street.
Race Description
The Issaquah Turkey Trot 5K is a fun, casual, all-ages event benefitting the crucial work of the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank to provide food and vital resources in East King County.
When? Thanksgiving Morning @ 9 a.m.
Where? Downtown Issaquah
Kids can participate in a “Gobble Wobble” along the route, and trotters often show their spirit with Thanksgiving-themed costumes and accessories as they run, walk, stroll, or trot a three-mile course through the heart of picturesque downtown Issaquah.
We welcomed over 5,000 trotters in 2025, and we are hoping to see another great turnout this year as our community rallies behind such an important cause.
All registrations include a race bib and t-shirt (t-shirt sizes only guaranteed for Early Bird registrations by October 30).

*Infants and toddlers only need to be registered if a t-shirt is desired.
Our Roots
Heather and Tom Matthews founded the Issaquah Turkey Trot in 2010, after residing in Issaquah since 1983. Heather grew up in this beautiful city and loved the community. For two years, she participated in the Seattle Turkey Trot and loved it. During the second year, she noticed many friends and community members had driven to Seattle to participate, so she decided to bring the Turkey Trot Thanksgiving tradition to Issaquah to help our local neighbors in need.
The first Issaquah Turkey Trot raised $4,000 for the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank, and the racers were put to the test with a snowstorm on Thanksgiving morning. Since its inception, the event has raised $655,000 for the programs and services at the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank.
The Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank now leads the Issaquah Turkey Trot, but still relies on many of Heather & Tom Matthews' wonderful friends and volunteers who have supported this huge event for so many years in order to make it an enjoyable and successful experience for everyone.
