COUGAR POLAR MILE

***Some Quick Housekeeping Notes***

Thanks for signing up!! This is our first annual Cougar Polar Mile, and we are excited to host you! Proceeds benefit Jefferson HS Cross Country and various school and community groups as well. All races will be entirely on the track. Spikes will only be permitted as you are racing, but we ask that you warmup in your flats. Our track is newly resurfaced, and we want to keep it fresh for its first season! We will run the TRUE English mile (1,609 meters).

-We will have a rolling race clock, that you will be able to see at the finish line. Results will be posted on Sunday.

-We will have a food truck! Deez Nuts and Boardwalk Fryz
-Restrooms are located in the school in the athletic hall entrance (the entrance facing Wildwood Middle school nearest the track).
-Registration/packet pickup will start at 6:45 and will end at 9:30 am. It will be located at the track entrance (by the food truck)
-We will have a raffle going on in between races, so hang on to those race bibs: Your race number is your raffle number!
-A reminder of the schedule:
Women’s Open (13 and up): 8:30 am
Girls' Open (up to age 13): 9 am
Fitness Walk: 9:30 am
Men’s Open (13 and up): 10 am
Boys Open (up to 13): 10:30am
Cub Run: 11am

*** ONLINE REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2020 FOR $20. REGISTRATION FOR THE DAY OF THE RACE IS $25 (CASH OR CHECK ONLY) ***

Purpose
Provide a fun and easy fundraising platform for all Jefferson High School clubs, organizations, sports, teachers’ projects and community organizations.

How It Works
The Cougar Polar Mile is an Official Jefferson High School Cross Country (JHS XC) Fundraising Event; however, it is considered an Activity Event for all other participating school entities.

JHS XC will host a classic walk-a-thon, where each runner will pay a single $20 entrance fee (T-shirt and swag included . 4 timed races and 2 fun runs).

Each registered participant will be able to raise funds for their designated clubs, organizations, sports, and/or teachers’ projects – or participants can just run.

Each recipient of funds will be responsible for controlling and managing their respective clubs, non-profits, organizations, sports and/or teachers’ participant funds. JHS XC will only register the runner.
