About this Race Series

2022 INFORMATION BELOW!

The Wyoming Valley Striders have been the driving force behind the distance running scene in northeastern PA for over 47 years, hosting a varied slate of races every year--some of them are now approaching the half century mark.

For a time, the club put on a race series, the Wyoming Valley Striders Triple Crown, with special awards and prizes for participants. The last iteration of this series was in 2011 but in 2019, the club named a new series.

Returning in 2022 is the 3rd Annual Vince Wojnar Triple Crown! (A 2020 series did not take place.)

The series is named in memory of Vince Wojnar, the co-founder of the club in 1975, who passed away 1.18.18. Vince was a staple in the running community. He volunteered half of his life to the Wyoming Valley Striders serving in various positions on the board from 1975-2018 and was race director for Strider races up until his retirement in 2015.
