I'm participating in the Strides for Peace Race Against Gun Violence to support New Community Outreach because I want to do all we can to end gun violence and create a better world. New Community Outreach (NCO) is a community based, non-profit organization committed to the Bronzeville area of Chicago's youth and community. NCO creates restorative spaces for healing, reconciliation and flourishing.
As members of Team NCO, we "Race Against Gun Violence" because our youth and community face the reality and impact of gun violence regularly. As we raise awareness through this campaign, NCO works to mitigate the impact of trauma that is caused by sources like gun violence by intentionally partnering with schools, residents, and other community organizations to be responsive to the needs, which has included youth trauma responsive programming, fresh produce distribution, and more.
I'm running and raising money for NCO because as an educator, I love NCO's focus on empowering youth! Would you consider partnering with me and NCO? This year, our team goal is $30,000 and my personal goal is $1,000. You can donate to my page here. Thank you so much! If
