I first came to the Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR) to earn hours for my Master of Public Health program. What began as a volunteer commitment quickly became something much deeper. I found a community — one rooted in love, justice, and transformation — and it changed my life.
Located in Back of the Yards, PBMR is a restorative justice hub that walks alongside individuals and families impacted by violence, poverty, and trauma. Through compassion, accompaniment, and advocacy, PBMR is more than a place — it’s a beacon of hope for our neighborhood and beyond.
This year, I’m running the 8K not just for PBMR, but in honor of someone who embodies everything it stands for: Sister Donna. As she prepares to retire, we celebrate her years of tireless service in our Family Forward Department. Sister Donna is a force of love and hospitality — someone who meets every person with dignity and warmth. Being in her presence is like standing in the sun after a long winter. She reminds us that healing is possible.
I run for her — and for all the lives touched by PBMR’s mission. I hope you'll support me, and in doing so, support the work of building a more just, more hopeful world.
