Team Susan Strong – Why We Climb
We’re climbing 832 steps — 98 flights to the top of the Space Needle — in honor of our mom, Susan.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 30s and passed away at just 42 years old. I was 15. My sister Kimberley was 12. Our brother was 8.
She was a force — strong, selfless, and full of heart. She worked until the final week of her life and always believed in giving back. She would have loved that Kimberley and I are doing this together.
We are both close or passed the age she was when she was diagnosed. That reality makes this climb even more personal. It’s not just about the steps — it’s about honoring her, raising awareness, and helping push forward the research that could save others.
We’re raising money to support life-saving cancer research, and we’d be so grateful for your support. Whether you donate, share, or simply cheer us on, thank you for helping us take every step — for her, and for every family touched by cancer.
With gratitude,
Kristine & Kimberley
