What We Do

Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC provides experienced race pacers to help runners achieve their goal finish times in 10K, half marathon, and marathon events. Whether the goal is a personal record, a Boston Qualifier, or simply running smart and strong, pacers maintain consistent effort so runners can focus on the experience—not their watches.

Our pacers are:

  • Easy to identify with clear pace signage
  • Trained to run steady, even effort
  • Supportive, encouraging, and experienced on race day

Pacing Program Structure

1. Pace Groups ⏱️

Pace groups are organized by goal finish time (for example: 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, etc.). Each group includes:

  • A designated pacer
  • A visible pace sign showing finish time or average pace
  • Clear, consistent pacing throughout the race

Pacers aim to finish within ±1 minute of the posted goal time, accounting for course conditions, crowding, and terrain.

2. Pre-Race Support

Start Line Meetup

Pacers will:

  • Be positioned in the appropriate starting corrals approximately 15 minutes before the race begins
  • Wear high-visibility Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC pacing gear
  • Be available to discuss pacing strategy and answer last-minute questions

Runners are encouraged to locate their pacer early and start the race with their pace group.

3. Race Day Strategy 👟

How Pacers Lead

During the race, pacers will:

  • Maintain a steady, controlled pace
  • Call out upcoming hills, aid stations, and key course features
  • Provide encouragement and motivation throughout the race

Pacers focus on effort-based pacing rather than reacting to every mile split, helping runners avoid going out too fast and fading late.

Tip: Runners may position themselves ahead of, beside, or just behind the pacer—whatever feels most comfortable—while staying with the group. Please ensure you do not block the trail/road so other athletes can pass.

4. Pacing Etiquette (Good to Know)

  • Runners may join or leave a pace group at any time
  • Pacers may make small adjustments for hills, congestion, or course layout
  • Pacers are unable to stop for restroom breaks or extended delays

5. Runner Benefits 🙌

Running with a Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC pace group can:

  • Promote even splits and smart energy use
  • Reduce race-day stress and decision-making
  • Provide shared motivation and accountability
  • Improve late-race performance by avoiding early burnout

Many runners find they finish stronger—and pass more runners—by sticking with a steady pace group.

  • Pace groups are included at no additional cost when offered by the event
