NW Academy NWANA
NWANA Academy supports the education pathway for Nordic Walking in North America.
The Academy helps prepare people who can teach safe technique, lead groups, support communities, organize activity, and help build the future sport and public-benefit structure for Nordic Walking.
Why the Academy Matters
Nordic Walking cannot grow responsibly without trained people.
Communities need instructors, leaders, coaches, organizers, officials, and support teams who understand technique, safety, participation, event development, and the larger NWANA pathway.
Instructor Training
Instructor training is one of the first priorities for NWANA because trained instructors can help more people begin safely and confidently.
Instructors may support local groups, community programs, wellness activity, clubs, teams, challenges, events, and future competition development.
Future Education Pathways
As NWANA grows, academy pathways may expand to support additional roles, including:
- local group leaders
- coaches
- officials and judges
- event organizers
- race directors and support staff
- community health and wellness leaders
- club and team leaders
From Education to Community Impact
Academy training connects directly to NWANA’s larger mission: helping people move better, stay active, form groups, participate in challenges, support events, and develop Nordic Walking as an organized sport and community activity.
Every trained instructor or leader can help create more opportunities for safe, active, and connected participation.
Instructor Growth Fund
The NWANA Instructor Growth Fund helps support the development of future instructors by raising funds that can create NWANA Academy course credits.
These credits may help train people who will teach safe technique, lead local groups, support clubs and teams, and bring Nordic Walking to more communities across North America.
