Capital Pursuit is one of Des Moines’ longest-standing race traditions, with a scenic paved route around beautiful 178-acre Easter Lake. Along the way, you’ll cross Polk County’s last remaining covered bridge and enjoy a course that makes this race one worth coming back to year after year.
Whether you’re ready to take on the 10 miles or looking for a shorter 4-mile option, there’s a place for you at this year’s Pursuit. And if you have little runners in your life, Pursuit Junior is free.

Capital Strider members receive a $10 discount on the entry fee. Bundle races for additional discounts.
