Foot and Ankle Center of Iowa
Foot and Ankle Center of Iowa is excited to partner with Capital Striders and to provide meaningful member benefits related to foot and ankle health. As part of their sponsorship, Foot and Ankle Center of Iowa will be offering two benefits to Capital Striders members:
Custom Orthotics
Capital Striders members will receive $75 off custom orthotics as part of this sponsorship benefit. Custom orthotics are typically a cash-pay item, as most insurance plans do not cover them. The standard cost for custom orthotics is $595, and with the Capital Striders sponsorship discount, the member cost would be $520.
Please note: the $75 sponsorship discount applies to cash-pay orthotics only and does not apply when orthotics are submitted through insurance. If a member believes they may qualify for insurance coverage for custom orthotics and would like the orthotics submitted to insurance, they must follow the standard clinical and billing process. This would require the member to be seen as an established patient and the visit to be billed to insurance per their financial policy. If appropriate, orthotics can then be submitted to insurance to determine coverage and benefits.
Complimentary Foot Screenings (Educational)
They will also offer complimentary foot screenings for Capital Striders members on most Tuesdays, by appointment, based on availability. To ensure availability, members must schedule in advance, and they strongly encourage scheduling at least one (1) week in advance whenever possible.
These screenings are designed to be a brief, educational foot and ankle assessment. They will include a basic foot exam and general recommendations based on the runner’s foot structure and characteristics. If, during the screening, they identify symptoms or findings that require further evaluation, they will recommend a full clinic visit. At that appointment, you can obtain X-rays if needed, confirm a diagnosis, and develop a complete treatment plan.
To keep expectations clear, these screenings will not include:
- X-rays or imaging
- A specific diagnosis
- A detailed medical treatment plan
- Any insurance billing
