The Essex Fire Department is a non-profit organization that supports members of our department, along with various community support projects. Examples include providing food during long calls or training, blood drives, scholarships, purchasing life-saving equipment, uniforms and clothing and items or services voted on as being needed by our members. These funds are necessary to supplement what is received from municiple taxes. The Association accepts donations from anyone wishing to support our members and, in turn, emergency services for Essex and neighboring communities. We are paid on-call volunteer fire department providing fire protection and emergency medical first response services and take enormous pride in providing our town the best emergency care that we can. Our Department is made up of over 35 men and women who put countless hours into training, planning, responding and educating.
Addi 15A1 is a Lifetime Member and Honorary Chief of the Essex Fire Department. Fire service was her passion and bringing people together to help each other was her purpose. She took responsibility for daily station inspections and reviewed new equipment builds. She was always on duty, tracking (and analyzing) all of our calls and staying ready to help on a moment's notice. She served as our ambassador to other departments but, more than anything, she was a beloved member of the Essex Fire Family. We loved to make her smile and she was happiest when she was near "my firefighters" or heard that we were safe back in quarters. We also surprised her by named a Fire Engine after her. Just like Addi, Essex Fire's Addi’s Engine (our Engine 2) is all wheel drive and takes anything life has to throw at it. Addi’s Engine symbolizes courage, devotion and resilience and reminds people to take care of each other. It will keep our community and Addi’s Essex Town Fire Brothers & Sisters safe for years to come and she will ride with us always.
We greatly appreciate your support!
