Forming a team is a great way to encourage family and friends to participate in the event. Many families form teams to honor their loved ones with autism, while others form a group with colleagues from their company, business, club, or civic organization. Teams vie for a variety of annual awards with a little friendly competition.
It’s easy to join or create a team online during or after registration. Visit our race website, www.ascv.org/challenge, and click “Sign Up.” During Registration, you will be able to select and join an existing Team Fundraiser or create your own. Now is a great time to get your team started online and start fundraising together!
If you want to join or create a team after registration, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to assist you.
We encourage you to celebrate by showing your team spirit! Many teams show their pride throughout the ASCV Challenge, 5K & Family Fun Day with custom t-shirts, wacky outfits, homemade banners, and Celebration Signs. You can purchase a Celebration Sign for display during the 5K & Family Fun Day during or after Registration. Show us your team spirit!
Winning Team Captains will receive a special prize and recognition at our awards ceremony, and our Top Fundraising Teams will each receive their own VIP tent during the 5K & Family Fun Day! Teams must raise a minimum of $5,000 to qualify.
The Don Mayfield Spirit Award is presented to one team displaying extraordinary team spirit. Dr. Don Mayfield was a founding member of the annual ASCV 5K and served on the ASCV board. His passion for helping the autism community is commemorated each year with this special award. Each year, a team is chosen for this honor based on the spirit and creativity of the team.
