Our internship program prioritizes local young adults, students, and community members, with a special focus on individuals who are curious, motivated, and eager to gain real-world experience in sports, events, and community engagement.
These roles are hands-on and meaningful. Interns are not observers. You will be actively involved in planning, execution, and creative decision-making, while learning how a growing sports organization operates from the inside.
Whether you are a student exploring career paths, a young professional building experience, or a community member passionate about sport and movement, we encourage you to apply. The time commitment is about 5h/week for 6-7 months.

Internship Positions
COMMUNITY ACTIVATION LEADER
This role connects ABQ Running Fiesta with the Albuquerque community.
Responsibilities:
- Work with run clubs, schools, gyms, and local groups
- Support community programs (volunteers, cheer squads, activations)
- Help create a welcoming and energetic race-week experience
- Represent the Fiesta in the local running community
Skills:
- Love people and community building
- Are outgoing and organized
- Want hands-on event experience
Commitment: 6 months
Compensation: $2,000 stipend
Time: ~5–7 hrs/week (flexible)
Location: Albuquerque (hybrid / in-person during race week)
MEDIA, MARKETING & BRANDING ASSISTANT
This role owns how ABQ Running Fiesta looks, sounds, and feels online.
Responsibilities:
- Help define and maintain the brand voice and messaging
- Create and manage a social media content schedule
- Collaborate with ambassadors, influencers, and athletes
- Invite and coordinate creators to be part of the Fiesta
- Brainstorm creative campaigns, reels, and storytelling ideas
- Support race-week media and behind-the-scenes content
Skills:
- Are creative and organized
- Understand social media trends and storytelling
- Are comfortable communicating with people
- Want real marketing and branding experience
Commitment: 6 months
Compensation: $2,000 total stipend
Time: ~5–7 hrs/week (flexible), more during Fiesta week (Oct 25- Nov 2nd, 2026)
Location: Albuquerque (hybrid / in-person during race week)
PARTNERSHIPS & SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR
This role helps build and manage relationships with local and national partners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with sponsor outreach and follow-ups
- Help organize and track sponsorship deliverables
- Support partner activations before and during race week
- Help tell sponsor stories through social media and newsletters
Skills:
- Are professional, organized, and reliable
- Enjoy communication and relationship-building
- Want experience in sports marketing or business
Commitment: 6 months
Compensation: $2,000 total stipend
Time: ~5–7 hrs/week (flexible), more during Fiesta week (Oct 25- Nov 2nd, 2026)
