Training Plan Options
Train with a virtual training group for 2024's race day!
We're partnering with the High Point Athletic Club for both an in person and virtual training program for the Elm Street Run Festival! Our in person training prorgram will meet twice per week at various places around the Triad. Can't make the in person practices? You can train from anywhere and fit this plan into your winter/spring schedule when it works best for you. Training begins March 3rd and ends on race day. You can add-on a plan with your registration. Plans will be emailed within 72 hours of on boarding meeting. The In-Person 10-week training program is $175 and includes:
- A 10-week training plan created by the High Point Athletic Club Coaching Staff.
- Choice of Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced 5K or 10 Mile plans
- A virtual on-boarding 30 minute appointment with Coach Josh or Coach Brandon prior to start date (must purchase before February 17th to receive the 30 minute virtual appointment before the training start date). For purchases after February 17th we will do our best to schedule an onboarding appointment.
How to choose a plan:
- No prior experience needed beginner 10-milers. Their goal is to complete the distance.
- Intermediate 10-milers should already be able to run 4 miles. Their goal is to complete the distance and in a goal time.
- Advanced 10-milers should already be comfortably running 10 miles. Their goal is speed.
- For 5K'ers, there are no mileage prerequisites.
- Beginners want to complete the distance
- intermediate and advanced runners want to get faster.
