Relay Information
The relay is run as five (5) seperate legs, all of them roughly 10km (6.2mi) in length.
Teams of 2-5 may transition, and receive aid, at the designated exchanges only.
The route is entirely on the beach shoreline, except for a short section at the west end of the seawall, otherwise stay on the sand.
There is no physical baton. Exchange to the next runner with a high five / fist bump / hug or some other creative hand-off.
Runners may run back-to-back legs (complete legs).
Volunteers will record bib numbers at each exchange point. Each member will have their own bib number.
Course Logistics
Relay teams should plan their own transport, there will be no transportation provided between transition points. One vehicle should be plenty enough to leap frog down the course as one runner completes a leg at a time.
Additional vehicles can be parked at the East Beach venue (finish).
Only one vehicle per team per exchange point at a time.
Relay teams should plan to be at the start line, at the San Luis Pass Beach Access, by 7 AM for the sunrise 7:20 AM start time. Please do not block the bus access.
WARNING: Watch for cyclists and other road users when driving between exchanges. No speeding, you have plenty of time to get to the next point. Race is not responsible for tickets or towing. Park in designated spots only. It's a busy weekend on the island, please be careful. The race is not an excuse to break any rules/laws.
