Bring Community and Tradition Together 

You can be part of the largest single-attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world! The Kentucky Derby Festival is recruiting volunteers to help produce its more than 70 events for the 2025 celebration.  

Thousands of volunteers are needed each year to help with everything from selling Pegasus Pins and escorting marching bands at the Zoeller Pump Company Pegasus Parade to checking-in vendors at Commonwealth Credit Union WineFest and handing out medals to runners as they cross the Finish Line at the GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon.  

And there’s no amount of time that’s too small to give. We have opportunities to help for a couple of hours or an entire day.  Plus, volunteers receive Festival perks including a behind-the-scenes look at the Derby Festival’s biggest events, complimentary swag, tickets to other city events, and discounts from various organizations
