Set up Transition

Every athlete has a spot in the Transition Area (organized by age-group) where their bike, helmet, shoes/socks, shirt, shorts, towel, and other essentials are located. This area is set up BEFORE the race starts.

For more information, check out "What is the Transition Area"

Finish Line

At the finish line, a professional photographer will take a picture of the athlete. A web version of this photo can be downloaded for free.

Volunteers will remove the athlete’s timing chip and collect the lap counters. The athlete will also receive a medal and a bottle of water and exit into the Athlete Food and Expo area.

There is a rule that only the athlete may pass through the finish arch. However, for the Non-competitive event, if the athlete wants their parent to finish with them, we will allow it.

  • For the Kids Duathlon, awards are handed out to the TOP 3 boys and girls in each age group.

The schedule lists the tentative times for awards but PLEASE listen for announcements in case we have to adjust the award start time for your age group.

If you must leave before the award ceremony, it is possible to pick up the athlete’s award before you go.

Leaving - Packing Up

Parents have to have a wristband to access the transition area to pack up. No wristband, no access.

Adults/Athletes will not be allowed to remove a bike from the Transition Area without showing the volunteers that the race number on the bike matches the race number on the athlete or bib. This is to prevent inadvertent removal of the wrong bike.

When in the Transition Area watch out for those who may still be racing.

Please be considerate of the racers.
