Individual Events
Last Man Standing - Begins Friday at 8:00pm
- Start Time: The Last Man Standing (LMS) race begins Friday at 8:00 pm.
- Arrival Time: Participants should be on-site no later than 7:00 pm; arriving earlier is recommended to familiarize yourself with the surroundings.
- Race Packet: Available at the race site (not Fleet Feet); you will need your QR Code parking pass to enter the gates
- Camping Pass:
- Race entry includes a camping pass, as the event spans throughout the night.
- Crew members must purchase a camping pass to ensure adequate supplies and gain access. They must drive with you for parking purposes or have purchased a parking pass. If parking passes are sold out please reach out to us.
- Course Layout:
- A 4.167-mile loop, including part of the main 5-mile race and an extended out-and-back portion.
- Deviations from the 5-mile course will be clearly marked—pay close attention during the first few laps.
- Rules:
- This is a Backyard Ultra event, and adherence to Backyard Ultra Rules is mandatory.
- Camping Area:
- A designated area near the start/finish corral is reserved for LMS runners to set up camp.
- Parking:
- LMS runner parking is in the large parking lot next to the main field. Park at the far end for easy departure after the race.
- Parking directly next to the LMS area is not permitted, so plan accordingly.
- Crew Entry:
- Crews arriving Saturday must have a parking pass or park at Poplar Grove Plantation and get shuttled in
- Aid Station
- Aid will be limited the first night to the basics - gels, bananas, water, and electrolytes. Saturday morning, more fuel will be put out. It is advised you have your own fueling plan and use our aid for supplementation.
50 Mile Individual - Begins 6:30am
- Start Time: The race begins at 6:30 am.
- Arriving early (around or before 5:30 am) is strongly recommended.
- Mandatory Meeting: A pre-race meeting will be held at 6:15 am.
Course Information
- Course Laps: 5 loops of a 10-mile course (subject to change based on conditions).
- Cutoff Time: You must be on your final lap by 4:00 pm with a headlamp.
- Bib Requirements:
- Bibs must be worn at all times during the race.
- Bibs include your timing chip.
- Checkpoints:
- You must pass through the checkpoint on each lap to receive an official time.
Awards and Finisher Recognition
- Top Awards: The top 3 male and female finishers will receive awards.
- Finisher Recognition: All participants completing 50 miles will receive a finisher belt buckle.
Aid Stations
- Station 1: Around 3.5 miles – self-serve; participants may check a bag and we will bring it to this location
- Station 2: A stocked aid station with volunteers. Gels, water and electrolytes
- Station 3: At the 10-mile checkpoint located in the event field. Gels, water, bananas, fruit, salty snacks, broth, electrolytes. You can also put your own aid along the camping area near the checkpoint
50K Individual - Begins 7:30am
- Start Time: The race begins at 7:30 am.
- Arriving early (around or before 6:30 am) is strongly recommended.
- Mandatory Meeting: A pre-race meeting will be held at 7:15 am.
