Details

Packet Pickup will be on Tuesday – Wednesday (11/21-11/22) from 11:00am – 7:00pm each day. This involves directing participants to the correct registration lines, ensuring that each participant receives their shirt and their race packet, and also helping address questions and concerns. We need 6-8 volunteers for each shift. Refreshments for volunteers will be provided.

Traffic Control

We need help directing people to parking lots available at the Stadium and the Fieldhouse, (no one will be allowed to park at the Museum).

Course Set-Up

Details

4 volunteers are needed to help set up the course, including setting up traffic cones, traffic signs, and delivering water jugs, tables and supplies to the water stations along the courses. Race Day Registration

6-8 volunteers to manage Race-Day Registration and Packet Pickup at our staging area at the Museum of the Rockies. This involves ensuring that the Registration Form is complete and legible, collecting the entry fee, distributing race packets and shirts, data entry of registrations, and addressing questions and concerns.

Start Line Helper

Details

10-12 volunteers are needed to help prepare the Start Line area before the races start, including setting up the Starting Line flags, help maintain order, help answer questions as to how runners line up and help releasing the runners for each race. Please read website for race start times and be familiar with corral system so you can help runners line up accordingly.

Tent Operations

Details

6 volunteers to serve inside and around the tents to help set-up tables, refreshments. These volunteers will help keep the area clean and orderly throughout the morning, including restocking refreshments, emptying trash receptacles and assisting the Tent Operations Functional Leader as needed.

10K Bicycle Pace Leader

Details

A brightly dressed and speedy bicyclist to lead the field of 10K participants. Pace leaders must be familiar with the courses and be able to stay comfortably ahead of the lead runners without interfering with the pace of the races. The courses are pavement surface. Print the course maps from our website. The use of bicycles is dependent upon the weather and road conditions; the use of studded tires is encouraged.

A brightly dressed bicyclist to serve as Sweeper for the 10K course. They will follow the last participant toward the Finish Line and advise Course Flaggers and Water Station Volunteers that the courses are clear according to the Sweepers’ progress along the routes. Note that walkers will be fully supported for the Untimed 5K Fun Run and have been asked not to participate in the 10K due to time constraints. The Course Sweeper for the 10K will sweep behind the last runner since walkers on the 10K will not be supported. The courses are pavement. Print the course maps from our website. The use of bicycles is dependent upon the weather and road conditions; the use of studded tires is encouraged.

The Wagon Wheel water station serves both the 10K and 5K, please encourage slower runners to keep right. Notes: 1) The 10K Course uses Wagon Wheel Road twice, both times traveling the same direction south and curving west. After completing Wagon Wheel the first time, they will turn left onto South 3rd. After completing Wagon Wheel the second time, they will turn right onto South 3rd. Please wear hearty smiles and shout encouraging words to the participants!
