Responsibilities:
- Last-minute packet stuffing. (Packet = Swag Bag, Bibs, shirts, etc)
- Hand out packets to runners;
- Assist runners with pre-race registration on their phones or our tablet;
- Organize packets to expedite pickup of the next day's packets.
- Tasks such as bib assignments that can be done in packet pickup downtime

May involve some standing, some medium-weight lifting, and some sitting

Most important volunteer for the entire weekend - basically, an Assistant Race Director. Must commit for all 3 days. (Hotel room or equivalent provided.) Needs to know when to handle an issue yourself vs calling K or J. Requires mature, responsible adult with both racing and race volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
- In charge of Main Aid Station when K & J are both on course.
- Keep aid station stocked
- Coordinate volunteers
- Hand out medals and awards, & take pictures
- Afternoon packet pickup., etc.
- Provide breaks to Lead in Solutions Tent

A lot of standing, walking, bending. Chairs available.

This volunteer task is full.

Details

2nd most important volunteer for the entire weekend - basically, an Assistant Race Director. Must commit for entire day(s). Hotel room provided if volunteering for more than 1 day. In charge of Far Aid Station. Needs to know when to handle an issue yourself vs calling K or J. Requires responsible person with both racing and race volunteer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Logistics with Aid Station setup each night
- Keep aid station stocked
- Coordinate Far Aid volunteers
- Answer questions about the race from the general public
- Direct runners
- Keep track of runners at the Out-n-back and 10K turnaround.

Lots of walking. Some sitting, some standing. some lifting.

- Aid station is located near the mid-point of the course. There is no parking at the HOA trailhead
- Park at Main Aid station (Marine Creek Lake @ 820) Then run/walk/bike to the Far Aid Station (2.85 miles)
- OR park at TRWD lot at the end of Ten Mile Bridge Rd. Then run/walk/bike to the aid station (1.15 miles).
- OR have someone drop you off at the HOA trailhead, and walk in (0.7 miles)

- May include manual logging of runners to/from turn-around
- Must be self-sufficient.

tables/chairs/tents.

Responsibilities:
- Drive volunteers to/from Far Aid Station and 5K turn-around
- Drop off supplies to Far Aid volunteers
- Check water-only stops and replenish with water and/or ice if needed
- Run off-course errands, such as purchases (ie ice/coffee/ pizza/ soda with company credit card)
- Assist with evacuating runners who are dropping
- Need a phone and a car
- Mileage reimbursed at 62.5 cents/mile per IRS guidelines

Responsibilities include:
- Volunteer Coordination
- Facilitating communication between Start/Finish and on-course volunteers
- Escalation point for any issues

Role is generally filled by a Race Director.

Friday is busy! First we load everything into the truck, then we meet the rental company and the timer at the race site. Then we unload everything from the truck, drag all the tents into position, wrap them in tarps, set up the tables, and position all the gear in the tents. Whew!

This volunteer position is for helping with setup once we get to the race site. We never know when the rental company will arrive, so this shift starts mid-afternoon.

Requires bending, lifting up to 50 lbs & stretching.

5K Team

5K Packet Pickup

Details

The 5Ks get a different packet, run a different course, and get a different medal than the other runners. They are also more likely to register at the last minute or race-day. All of this means a lot more moving parts, so we're dedicating a special team just to the 5K!

This task is for packet pickup. Your responsibilities are:
1) Assist with online registration on their phones (not yours)
2) Assist with same-day registration on paper registration forms. Includes getting signatures on BOTH waiver forms. Refer them to the 5K lead for cash payments.
3) Give the runners packets, shirts/swag and dynamically (and accurately) assign them bib numbers
4) Clean up the packet/pickup area in time to start handing out medals
5) Organize medals, and give out 5K medals to 5K runners (5K runners will have a different bib than the other runners.)

5K Turnaround & Water Stop

Details

Shift responsibilities:
1) Check in at the solutions tent
2) We'll shuttle you out to the turn-around
3) Unload any required water stop supplies
4) Set up the water table & 5K Turnaround signs if required
5) Make sure the 5K runners turn around at the correct place. They will have different colored bibs than the other distances. Cheer them on and offer water!
6) Break down the water stop and put remaining water bottles in the runner cooler for the other distances. Load the waterstop supplies into the vehicle, and get a ride back
7) Check out at the Solutions tent and get your volunteer hour forms signed if needed

Paw Patrol Safety Team

First Aid / Medical High Priority

You must be 21-99 years old to volunteer for this task.

This position is open to:
- Medical Practitioners, Chiropractors & residents in all specialties, (MD, DO, RN, MSN, BSN, PA,etc) OR
- EMTs, Paramedics, or other First Responders, OR
- Licensed bodywork professionals: Physical Therapist, Massage Therapist, Sports Trainers, Athletic Trainers, etc OR
- Others considered: Yoga professionals or similar who also have current First Aid & CPR/AED.

We provide:
- USATF Event Medical Professional Liability Insurance. This is Primary insurance coverage for Medical practitioners, Resident Physicians, Chiropractors and other licensed physicians in all specialties. It also applies to Physician Assistants (PA), Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, and Massage Therapists.
- 10x10 space under a canopy with privacy walls, 1 cot, blankets & massage table.
- Basic first aid supplies, sports/KT tape, ice/ice bags, etc for runners to self-treat or you to use, depending upon your preference.
- Limited monetary compensation, and the ability to earn tips or sell services.

The race site is 3.0 miles from an Urgent Care, 3.6 miles from a Fire Station and 7.0 miles from an emergency room. This means your responsibilities are:
- Triage issues. Provide care for the mild issues (ie bandaids, ice, k/t tape) and refer to a local health facility for everything else
- Provide emergency care commensurate with your training while waiting for the ambulance
- Providing non-drug relief for normal runner aches and pains such as strains, pulls, and soreness.

Paw Patrol On-Course Safety Team (aka Bike Support)

Responsibilities:
- Travels the course against the race flow to check on runners, check on water stops, flip signage, and assist/provide breaks to on-course volunteers.
- Can travel via bike/e-bike, scooter, rollerblades, etc
- Carry basic first aid such as bandaids and sunscreen (hand out but don't apply)
- Answer questions
- Transport light items to the water stops and aid stations.
- Call race director or 911 if there is an issue
- Race will provide hi-vis vests
- Race will provide course map with extraction points clearly marked.
