Walk for Weims is designed to be flexible, fun, and inclusive. Which means you can participate anywhere on April 12, National Weimaraner Day!

Walk your neighborhood, favorite park, hiking trail, beach, or even your treadmill if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Whether you walk with a local group, your own pack, or just you and your Grey Ghost, every step helps support Weimaraner rescue.

Prefer walking with others? Many participants organize local meetups across the country. You can join a group walk if one is happening near you, or even help start one in your area.

Already registered and later find a group walk you want to join? No problem! You do not need to re-register. Your registration works for both virtual participation and group walks. Simply show up and walk with the pack.

However you choose to participate, you are part of the Walk for Weims community helping create awareness, support rescues, and celebrate this incredible breed.

Bring your Weim, your walking shoes, and your love for rescue as we celebrate National Weimaraner Day with a fun stroll along the beautiful trail.

After the walk, if there’s interest, we may head to a local dog park for an after-party—because Weims (and their humans) deserve some extra social time!

- Leashes required—no off-leash zoomies, please!
- Bring water & poop bags—hydration & cleanup are key!

Join DC Area Weimaraner Rescue and your fellow Grey Ghost addicts for a paws-itively fun group walk at the beautiful Farm Brewery at Broad Run on Saturday, April 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET!

We’ll be celebrating National Weimaraner Day the best way we know how—surrounded by silky ears, wagging tails, and good company (the two-legged and four-legged kind).

After our walk, stick around to relax with a cold brew and swap Weim stories in a gorgeous Virginia setting.

What to bring: Your leash, your love for Weims, and some poop bags (please and thank you!)

We’ll meet in the parking lot, sniff out some new trails, and enjoy a relaxed morning of walking, wagging, and Weimaraner love in honor of National Weimaraner Day.

Location: Bonnabel Blvd & Bonnabel Boat Launch

Greater New Orleans area Walk for Weims walkers are welcome to join us for a group walk down Bonnabel Greenway in Metairie.

We will meet near the hill at the boat launch end of Bonnabel (not all the way at the launch area!) around 8:30am CT and start walking towards Veterans at 8:45am CT and then back to the Boat Launch for an after-pawty at the Bonnabel Boat Launch Dog Park.

Be sure to bring water for your pup and poop bags!

The walk is nearly 2 miles and everyone is encouraged to walk safely at their own pace. Walk all the way or turn around whenever you or your pup has had enough.

Location: Glenroy Preserve, 10 W Christine Rd, Nottingham, PA 19362

Join this special meet up hosted by @weimawinner and Weims Udo, Ooschie, Zelig, Rumor, and Iggy.

The walk will start at approximately 10:15am ET.

Meeting spot: Parking lot

Details: Approximately 2.5 mile moderate walk is planned, however there are multiple trail options to choose from if you prefer an easier or shorter route or maybe you're looking to make a day of it with a longer more challenging excursion through this 577 acre preserve!

Dogs must remain leashed at all times and under complete control of their handler. Please have proof of current rabies vaccination available upon request (printed or digital).

This is a family friendly event. Bring water for you and your pup as well as poop bags. There are no restrooms on the preserve, so please plan accordingly!

SoCal Weims Take the Shoreline!

Grab your leash, your favorite Grey Ghost, and those chill SoCal vibes. We’re headed to the coast!

Join us Saturday, April 12th at 11:00am PT for a laid-back group walk.

Meet us at the top of the steps. From there, we’ll soak up the views, stroll the beach if the tide is low, and connect with fellow Weim addicts who get it.

Important stuff:
• Dogs must be leashed
• No dogs on the beach at East, West, or Leadbetter
• Always scoop the poop and bring water + bags
