Walk as far as you’d like! There’s no required distance—you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or go for a more challenging trek. It’s all about participating and supporting the cause.

Not at all! We love seeing Weimaraners at the event. Participants are welcome to walk with any dog breed. You can even join without a furry friend! You can walk in memory of a beloved pet or human. Walkers of all kinds are invited to join the fun and support this great cause.

Yes, all participants must register to join the Walk for Weims. Your registration fee helps support the participating Weimaraner rescues. 

Registration is quick and easy! Visit our registration page after 2/21/2026 and complete the online registration form. Once completed, you’ll get a confirmation email with a link to your fundraising dashboard and fundraising tips

When you register for Walk for Weims, the system automatically creates a personal fundraising page for you.

But here’s the important part: Fundraising is completely optional.

Walk for Weims is about celebrating Weimaraners and showing up for Weimaraner rescue. Whether that means raising funds, spreading awareness, logging miles in WoofTrax, organizing a meetup, or simply walking with your Grey Ghost on National Weimaraner Day.

The fundraising page is simply a built-in tool that makes it easy if you choose to use it. Some walkers love sharing their page with friends and family. Others prefer to participate without asking for donations.

There is no minimum fundraising requirement.

Many participants are surprised at how willing friends and family are to support rescue when given the opportunity.

Every step counts.

Funds raised through registration fees and sponsorship will be distributed among the participating Weimaraner rescues once expenses are deducted. The top fundraising Weimaraner rescue will receive 50% and the other 50% will be split equally amongst the remaining rescues.  Donations to your fundraiser are released directly to the participating Weimaraner rescue organizations based on the preferences of our walkers. During registration, you’ll have the chance to select which rescue you’d like to support.

Unfortunately we are not taking offline payments or donations. To keep everything organized and ensure all participants are properly registered, we’re only accepting online registrations through our official site. This helps us track everyone’s participation and makes the process smoother for our rescue partners.

However, you are welcome to mail any offline donations directly to the Weim rescue of choice. Please note "Walk For Weims donation" on the memo line of your check. Contact us using the contact form below if you need assistance connecting with the Weim rescue in your area.

We’re always looking to partner with more rescues! If your favorite Weimaraner rescue isn’t listed, send the organization’s contact information to us at walkforweims@gmail.com.
