Walk for Weims Honorary Walk Ambassador
Every Weimaraner leaves a mark on the people who love them.
Some inspire us to adopt.
Some introduce us to rescue.
Some quietly become the reason we volunteer, foster, donate, and walk.
The Walk for Weims Honorary Walk Ambassador recognizes the Weimaraners whose stories capture the heart of this community- dogs who remind us why rescue matters and why the Weimaraner community continues to show up for this remarkable breed.
Each year, Walk for Weims will recognize one Weimaraner as the Honorary Walk Ambassador whose spirit reflects the loyalty, resilience, and connection that make Weimaraners so unforgettable.
2026 Honorary Walk Ambassador- Flo Wegman
About Flo Wegman
Flo Wegman is one of the iconic Weimaraners of renowned artist William Wegman, whose work has introduced generations of people to the intelligence, elegance, and unmistakable spirit of the breed. Through photography, film, and storytelling, Flo helped bring Weimaraners into popular culture—captivating audiences around the world with her expressive presence and quiet charisma.
Why Flo Was Selected
Flo was chosen as the first Honorary Walk Ambassador because she represents the very essence of what Walk for Weims stands for. She celebrates the beauty and versatility of the breed, has played a role in expanding awareness and appreciation for Weimaraners, and continues to inspire connection among those who love them.
As a cultural icon of the “Gray Ghost,” Flo symbolizes the bridge between art, community, and the deep bond we share with these incredible dogs—making her the perfect ambassador for a nationwide movement dedicated to celebrating the breed, supporting rescues, and bringing the Weimaraner community together.
Honoring the Ambassador Who Started It All
The Walk for Weims Honorary Walk Ambassador Award was inspired by a very special Weimaraner named Mollie.
Mollie was my Weimaraner and a proud rescue dog from the Willow 12 litter with Weimaraner Rescue of the South. She and I found our place in the rescue community together, and over the years she became a familiar face at events, adoption days, and gatherings where people came together to support Weimaraners in need.
She attended adoption events, welcomed potential adopters during home visits, charmed visitors at pet fairs, and even worked the runway at rescue fashion shows. She was the “hostess with the mostest” at rescue gatherings and helped countless people fall in love with the breed.
Because of that spirit, Mollie will always be considered the first Walk for Weims Honorary Walk Ambassador.
This award creates a space to recognize other Weimaraners whose stories capture the heart of our community and inspire people to support rescue.
What the Honorary Walk Ambassador Represents
The Walk for Weims Honorary Walk Ambassador recognizes a Weimaraner whose story reflects the spirit of the breed and the community that supports it.
Honorees may include Weimaraners who have:
• Inspired people to support Weimaraner rescue and advocacy
• Helped raise awareness, appreciation, or understanding of the breed
• Represented the character, loyalty, and unique personality that make Weimaraners so beloved
• Brought members of the Weimaraner community together through their story, legacy, or influence
The Honorary Walk Ambassador serves as a symbolic representative of the Weimaraners who have shaped this community and the people who continue working to give dogs the second chances they deserve.
Why This Tradition Matters
Walk for Weims was created to bring the Weimaraner community together in support of rescues across the country.
Every walker, every volunteer, and every donation helps rescue organizations continue their work caring for Weimaraners who need a second chance.
The Honorary Walk Ambassador Award serves as a reminder of the dogs at the heart of that mission.
Because behind every rescue story is a Weimaraner who changed someone’s life.
And those stories are why we walk.
