L.A. CHINATOWN FIRECRACKER EVENTS

START LINE: 943 N. BROADWAY, LOS ANGELES, CA  90012

The Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run/Walk, Bike Ride, Kiddie Run and PAW'er Dog Walk is the largest and longest-running Lunar New Year charity run and event in the United States.
Established in 1978, Firecracker has since grown over the last 46 years to include a Bike Ride, Kiddie Run and Paw’er Dog Walk and serves the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area with support from Council District One of the City of Los Angeles. All proceeds are reinvested into the community, in support of elementary schools and non-profit organizations, providing services and programs that benefit local neighborhoods.
*All registrations must be made online. No paper registration available. Registration assistance maybe requested at: Registration@Firecracker10k.org

 

-REGISTRATION-

Online registration remains open until the start of the event.

Participants may register via mobile devices on the day of the event. Race packets (race bib/timing chip for timed events, t-shirt, finisher's medal, and goodie bag) for onsite registrant will be available for pick-up on the day of the registered event at the SOLUTIONS desk. Computers will be available on site to register.

On-site registration is available on Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 419 W. College St. Los Angeles, CA  90012.

 

How To View and Edit Your Registration

-EVENT CHANGES-

Change of events can be made through your RunSignup account. Sign into your account and click on Switch Event to begin the process of changing the event. Charges for the difference in the cost of the event may apply. For more information click this link.
 

REFUND POLICY

All entry fees are non-refundable. However, you may defer your event once per year that you registered. You may not alter, reproduce, give or sell your number to another individual – doing so will result in your disqualification as well as disqualification of the individual who uses your race number. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, act of God, etc. There are no exceptions. Any inquiry regarding this policy will be directed back to this page. The event will be held rain or shine.


-TRANSPORTATION-

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Go Metro! The Metro Gold Line (Chinatown Station exit) is half a block from the Firecracker event site. Bag check is free and will be available for all riders (riders must show Metro Tap or Pass for the bag check.) -BIB AND PACKET PICK-UP-

Participants must provide registration confirmation and valid driver's license or photo identification to receive race packets (race bib/timing chip for timed events, t-shirt, finisher's medal, and goodie bag). Packet pick-up for all events other than the PAw'er Walk is in the same location. You may go to any registration line as bib assignments are dynamic  and not pre=assigned except for the Paw'er Walk is organized numerically by bib number.

Registration and packet pickup for the Bike Ride events and PAW'er Walk will be held at 419 W. College Street on Saturday, February 24, 2024 beginning at 7:00am. Packet pickup for the 5K/10K RUN and WALKS and the Kiddie Run will be held from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday and on Sunday, February 25, 2024 beginning 6:00am.

WHAT EVENTS ARE OFFERED FOR FIRECRACKER 2024?

  • 50 MILE HALF CENTURY BIKE RIDE

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25th

  • 5K RUN
  • 10 RUN/WALK

  • KIDDIE RUN

 

MAY I PICK-UP MY REGISTRATION PACKAGE EARLY?

  • Participants for the Saturday events such as the bike rides and PAW’er DOG WALK may pick up their bibs starting at 7:00 AM on Saturday.
  • Pre-registered runners/walkers and kiddie runners for Sunday’s events may pick up their packets on Saturday from 10 AM – 3 PM.  
  • Participants may also register on during event weekends if the event is not sold out. The registration area is located at 419 W. College St., Los Angeles  90012.

WHERE IS THE START LINE FOR THE BIKE RIDES AND 5/10K RUN/WALK?

The start line is at the crosswalk located at 943 N. Broadway, Los Angeles  90012

MAY I PICK UP MY FRIEND’S GOODIE BAG AND BIB?

You may pick up your friend’s items as long as you provide the following:

  1. Copy of the driver’s license or photo identification
  2. Copy of the email confirmation for their event

WHAT IF IT IS RAINING ON EVENT DAY?

The event will still take place as scheduled, rain or shine.

WHERE MAY I FIND PARKING?

Street parking is available as well as private paid parking lots in and around the Chinatown area. Please observe the parking time limit on the parking meters in Chinatown on Saturday, February 24, 2024. The parking guidelines and parking rules are set by LA City Parking and enforced during event weekend; all participants should comply to parking restrictions. Parking meters are enforced. There are also various lots open around the area that may require payment. Be mindful of the street closures from Alpine and Broadway, heading north on Broadway.

LA Chinatown is also a stop on the GoldLine if you take Metro.

On Sunday, as you  drive near the Start Line, there will be streets closed from 04:00 - noon.

Sunday there are limited free street parking.

There are 2 parking lots located on Hill Street, just off the 110 Fwy and the other near Hill Street and Alpine.

There is one lot at the corner of Broadway and Alpine, if you are coming off the 101 Fwy and driving on Broadway.
