What is your connection to Project Children?
I am honored to come from the same village as the amazing Mulcahy Family. I have been aware of Project Children from an early age. My husband & I also have the honor of hosting a Project Children intern each summer. We have had some amazing young adults over the last few years & look forward to hosting another intern this summer.
Do you have a favorite PC memory?
Having watched the fabulous documentary “How to Defuse a Bomb” numerous times, the wonderful friendships that have been forged through the program are my favorite memory. It is heartwarming to see the innocence of the kids shine through when they were removed from the awful situation in Northern Ireland during the troubles. Many of those children returned to the USA in adulthood to become successful professionally.
Tell us what it means to be a PC ambassador for the PC Picnic and 5k and the Move to the Monaghan Peace Campus.
It is such an honor to be among so many esteemed and deserving PC Ambassadors. Personally, being from the same village as the Denis & the Mulcahy Family, makes it even more special. I look forward to spreading the word about the amazing accomplishments of Project Children over the past 50 years. It’s my opinion that everyone needs to see the fantastic Project Children documentary. There are so many lessons to be learnt from it. I have seen it at least five or six times & each time I see it, I pick up on something that I missed the previous time.
