As a captain, you’ll lead the charge in keeping runners fueled, focused, and moving forward. Whether you’ve run a hundred miler yourself or just love the energy of race day, this role is perfect for anyone who thrives in the inspiring, unpredictable world of ultrarunning. You’ll help organize your volunteer crew, bring your aid station to life with a custom theme, and play a direct role in shaping someone’s race experience. And yes—there are some very solid perks for stepping up (like Wolverine swag, race credits, and a camp site).

Wolverine Aid Station Crew Fund

Upon request, Trivium will make a donation to groups adopting an aid station, in lieu of Aid Station Captain perks. This is great for club members who want help with travel expenses, or as donations to school booster clubs or nonprofits!  This is in lieu of the perks listed below, but all volunteers do receive the orange volunteer trucker hat (pictured below).

To earn a donation, you must "adopt" an aid station, which means filling all the shifts at a single aid station throughout the race weekend, and fulfilling aid station captain responsibilities. If you have more than enough volunteers, you can adopt another aid station to double your donation! Each aid station has a maximum number of volunteer spots listed on the signup page. Groups may not overstaff an aid station.

Groups adopting an aid station must have at least one captain per aid station attend pre-race volunteer meetings, and stay in communication with the race volunteer coordinator for updates and information, and take responsibility of sharing volunteer information to their volunteer group members in their aid station.

We are also accepting groups volunteering for the finish line, start line, or sweeper.
