Get ready for a SUPER flat & fast race course with approximately only 96 feet of cumulative elevation gain for the marathon distance event.
Packet Pickup is strongly encouraged on Thursday & Friday prior to Race Day on Saturday November 14, 2026. There will be Limited race day packet pickup that will begin at 5:00 a.m. (Packet - Pick Up location - Tad Gormley Stadium)
Please be sure to bring a photo ID for packet pickup! If you plan to pick up a packet for a friend or family member, please bring a copy of their driver's license on your phone or their registration email as proof.

There is a 4 1/2 time limit for the half marathon at the start of the last Half Marathon wave. The Marathon has a 7 Hour Time Limit that will be strictly enforced! Participants who are still on the course at that time will be allowed to finish, but will do so at their own risk without law enforcement or volunteer support.
The start and finish line are less than 1/2 mile apart.

Yes! Walkers are welcome in either Half-Marathon, 5K event. Walkers must maintain a 17:00/mile pace to complete the half marathon within the 4 1/2 time limit while marathoners have a 7 hour time limit. Walkers not maintaining this pace would be moved to the sidewalks so city streets can be reopened by 2:00pm!
Aid stations will be placed approximately every 1.5 miles apart on the 5K course as well as the New Orleans Marathon and the Half Marathon events. Aid stations will supply both water and Gatorade Endurance. GU Energy Gels will be available at miles 6 and 8 of the half marathon and Marathon race course . Medical support will be roving throughout the event for each distance event. Portable restrooms will be in close proximity to all aid stations.
Gear check will be available near the main start staging corral area just off of Victory Drive in City Park not very far from the start line location. Look for signs & volunteers indicating the location of this Gear Check Area on Victory Drive, near the Great Lawn area in City Park.
The Marathon & Half Marathon courses will be certified by USA Track & Field for the 2026 race. This certification will be completed by March 1, 2026.
Yes. All of the events use Race Result Timing Systems bib chip timing with splits being taken at several points on the marathon and half marathon courses.
Yes, they are allowed but please start in the back of the field of runners so you do not impede other athletes.
Yes. Our award-winning medals will be presented to all Official Finishers from each distance event. Every member of a registered marathon relay team will get an Official New Orleans Marathon Finisher Medal.
Yes you can! But, if that athlete's packet has any issues like an unsigned waiver, then you would not be allowed to pick up that athlete's race items.

Average temperatures range from an average high of 73 degrees to a low of 55 degrees in mid November. CLOSE TO PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS!
The safety of all participants is our primary concern, and devices such as headphones, cell phones, and iPods can cause problems along the course. We ask that, if you do plan to use an electronic device, please do so with caution and be respectful of the other competitors.
The 5K starts at 6:30am
The Marathon, Half, and Marathon Relay start at 7:30am
The 2026 New Orleans Marathon will have many parking options when you arrive at the race site in and around the New Orleans City Park on packet pick-up days and race day itself. The race site has hundreds of parking spots in the surrounding neighborhood for free on street parking. Parking will also be offered for a nominal fee at Delgado Community College, just across the street from Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park.
Race Management will offer complimentary post event shuttle bus service from New Orleans City Park back to two locations in downtown New Orleans for our out of town runners joining us for the New Orleans Marathon. One drop off will be at the New Orleans Hyatt Hotel on Loyola Avenue near the Louisiana Superdome, while the second drop off location will be at the Hilton Riverside Hotel along the Mississippi River at the foot of Poydras Street. These post-event shuttle buses will be staged on Orleans Avenue at City Park Avenue near the Administration Building on the campus of Delgado Community College. The shuttle bus ride back to downtown New Orleans is just a 15 minute trip.
