Moti Mehrotra - Team Moti Ma
Moti Ma was born and raised in a small city in Northern India, called Lakhimpur Kheri. From early school years, she was the star in the Debate and public speaking competitions at the district level. Moti was one of the first women in Lakhimpur to have received a graduate degree – B.A. in English, Political Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit. She wanted education to be more widely available and started an elementary school in her town with only two teachers and a handful of students. Today, that school is the oldest surviving school in Lakhimpur Kheri and has flourished and morphed into an institute that offers an Associate Degree to thousands of students. She maintains an active lifestyle by practicing Yoga and Meditation every day. She also runs spiritual and religious classes.
