If you would like to run in honor of Star Andrew, you will select his team when registering and your team t-shirt color is TEAL. Here's Andrew's story.
Andrew was a typical teenager - a high school sophomore who enjoyed playing baseball for the Marysville Monarchs, had a girlfriend, and was learning to drive.
On May 2, 2017, Andrew was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. Following brain surgery to remove the tumor, Andrew spent 22 days in Nationwide Children's Hospital which included time on the rehab floor where he learned to walk again. Once discharged, he spent five days at home prior to traveling to Boston, MA for six weeks of proton beam irradiation to his brain and spine. He returned home to Ohio and after a five-week "break", he began 9 cycles of chemotherapy that spanned 48 weeks. He completed treatment in July 2018.
Andrew is a member of the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa Honor Society and will graduate high school this May. He plans to study engineering in college. We are very proud of him!
