Run in Honor of Star Erin - Turquoise
If you would like to run in honor of Star Erin, you will select her team when registering and your team neck gaiter color is TURQUOISE. Here's Erin's story.
Erin was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma Pilocytic Grade 1 Brain Tumor wrapped around her left optic nerve. With the help of the doctors at Nationwide Children's Hospital they were able to biopsy a chunk of the tumor and were able to shrink the tumor with a year and a half of chemotherapy. Erin has been in remission since March of 2007.
Erin is now in her sophomore year of college at Fairmont State University and is majoring in Communication Arts and has finished her minor in Sociology. She is a Chi Alpha leader which is a campus ministry. Erin works two jobs while on campus. She is a barista at Starbucks and also is the Fairmont State University Mascot Handler.
