2020 WRATHlete of the year
Before we announce who the WRATHlete of the year is, I think it’s important to talk about why we choose to honor someone this way, and what the criteria is in making a selection.
The WRATHlete of the year is recognized in February for the prior year. There may not be a WRATHlete every year, but some years, there is an athlete that embodies all of the criteria.
-
WINNING ISN'T EVERYTHING: We want to recognize athletes with grit and determination. The WRATHlete of the year won’t always be the athlete that wins the most races, sets the records, or wins the big races, (but it helps) they also have to exhibit good sportsmanship and a winning attitude!
-
R-E-S-P-E-C-T: We want to recognize athletes that earn the respect of other athletes: by giving good advice, good sportsmanship even at their own cost, demonstrating grit and determination or by being genuine and nice people.
-
ALL-AROUND ATHLETICISM: We want to recognize athletes that participate in different types of events (long and short, trail & road) and at least 3 of the 4 WRATH events.
-
TEAM TOGETHER: We want to recognize athletes that volunteer at our races (and others) and that pitch in to help where they see that help is needed.
-
HEART AND SOUL: We want to recognize athletes that embody Ohana, the concept of a family. The WRATH family is at the heart of why we do what we do, and we feel that’s a big part of what makes WRATH Racing special.
