5k Course (Click to see the 5k course in motion)

 

5k runners/walkers will start their race heading west from the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center.  Racers will then turn south and head towards Historic US 40, where they will spend three-quarters of a mile running through downtown Plainfield. The course will then take runners/walkers north and through Franklin Park. As racers exit Franklin Park, they will cross a beautiful old iron bridge to enter the Vandalia Trail. Racers will take the scenic, tree lined, paved trail back to the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation and Aquatic Center.

  • Mile 1.4 Water
  • Mile 2.1 Water and Restroom  

 

Elevation

The 5k course is relatively flat with rolling hills.

5k racers will choose a team to "back" during registration: Police, 911, or Fire. They will receive the shirt of the team they choose to back.

Marathon or half marathon runners who race in 2024, 2025, & 2026 will receive this custom acrylic medal display! 5k runners will have the option to purchase this display in 2026.
