Charity Partners 2024

Twin City Track Club is delighted to announce the selection of Beat the Heat Charity Partners for 2023.

   - Ainsley’s Angels in the Triad
   - Girls On The Run Greater Piedmont

The Charity Partner program is a way to further support our mission to promote fitness and health, and to improve the quality of life for individuals and families. A portion of the event proceeds goes towards each of these non-profit charities.
Race participants are given the opportunity to contribute to the Charity Partners at the time of event registration, further increasing the charitable contributions.
Anyone can make a donation to the charity partners at any time.  You do not need to register to make a donation.

Ainsley’s Angels in the Triad takes people off the sidelines to over the finish line. Through endurance events and road races just like Beat the Heat, the organization promotes teamwork, fitness, and inclusion by pairing an able-bodied runner with a special needs athlete rider. When an angel runner lends their legs and is pulled by one of our angel riders in a race, they give the rider the ability to participate in something previously thought impossible. Funds awarded will be used towards the purchase of specialized racing chairs to service our rapidly expanding athlete rider base. More racing chairs gives us the ability to reach and serve more families, and 100% of money awarded through this partnership will stay local to impact our Triad riders.

Girls On The Run Greater Piedmont is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program designed to enhance girls’ social, emotional and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and blend physical activity with life skill development. Working together with competent coaches, the girls slowly build up to a 5K. If one girl slips behind in the run, the girls have learned going back and supporting her is more important than winning. This is a very vital time in a girl’s life, 3rd-8th grade. Funds from Beat the Heat will be used to support the girls in the program, making sure every girl has the opportunity and support of the community to grow. Supplies for curriculum, first aid, snacks, and gear for those in need are just a few things the funds will support.
