August 14, 21 28 (Saturdays) - need to shake off the rust from a long summer? Need some motivation to start running again? come to Memorial Park for an easy group run around the loop and through the park. Meet some people, ask some questions, get psyched for the season! We will run what is on the training schedule (between 3-6 miles). This is a great opportunity for guests to try us out before joining.
September 4 (Saturday) - First group run and Season Overview: after our group run in your pace groups, stick around to find out how the season will run and basics about RHC. Groups runs are on each Saturday until January.
September 11 (Saturday) - if the shirts and hats are in, we will hand them out after our run this day.
September 12 (Sunday) - New Runner Welcome and Orientation, 3 - 5 PM, place TBA. A fun, interactive virtual meeting to tell you all about RHC, the upcoming season, intro to the coaches, background on RHC, how the season will run, running tips, gear tips, Q&A session, etc. All welcome!
September 13 (Monday) - first Track Workout. Get out there and feel the burn! Join the 5:30 AM or 6:30 PM workout at the Memorial Park track. Schedule provided if you want to do it on your own. Track workouts are every Monday through the end of December.
September 15 (Thursday) - first Tempo Workout. Who said running was boring?! 5:30 AM or 6:30 PM workout at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou. Schedule provided if you want to do it on your own. Tempo workouts are every Thursday until the end of December.
September 18 (Saturday) - Group run and seminar #1: After our group run, hear from a speaker on an important and relevant running topic.
September 22 (Wednesday) - Hump Day Happy Hour, 5:30 - 7:30 PM, place TBA. Relax with your running friends and teammates and toast the middle of the week!
September 25 (Saturday) - Group run and seminar #2: After our group run, hear from a speaker on an important and relevant running topic.
October 2 (Saturday) - Group run and seminar #3: After our group run, hear from a speaker on an important and relevant running topic
October 20 (Wednesday) - Hump Day Happy Hour, 5:30 - 7:30 PM, place TBA. Relax with your running friends and teammates and toast the middle of the week!
November 13 (Saturday) - Thanksgiving Lunch at St. Arnold's. If we are able to hold his event, it will be here. 11:00 - 1:00 PM at St. Arnold's Brewery Biergarten. Come celebrate another long run done and get in the Thanksgiving spirit! Family and friends welcome.
November 17 (Wednesday) - Hump Day Happy Hour, 5:30 - 7:30 PM, place TBA. Relax with your running friends and teammates and toast the middle of the week!
December 4 (Saturday) - RHC Holiday Party in the evening (TBA). If we are able to have a Holiday Party, it would be here.
December 15 (Wednesday) - Holiday Lights Fun Run, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Join us to run in a Houston neighborhood to see the holiday lights! Snacks to follow. Holiday costumes encouraged! Lots of lights (head lamp, flashlight, etc.) strongly recommended. Family and friends welcome.
Location (subject to change): Meet at the parking lot of Bank of America (5171 San Felipe St, Houston, TX 77056; near corner of Sage and San Felipe); you can park under the trees on the east side of the bank. We'll take off from there around 6:30 PM for a 30-minute jog in the Tanglewood neighborhood.
January 8 (Saturday) - RHC End of Season Breakfast (TBA). If we are able to hold this event, it will be here. But it might be something else.
Celebrate the end of our 22-week training season and prepare for our race in a week's time! Review of season, coaches' talks, guest speaker and raffle! 7:00 - 9:00 AM (after our group run). Registration and pre-payment required. Cost TBA
January 16 (Sunday) - Race Day! Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half-Marathon!
January 16 (Sunday) - Post-Race Victory Party! 3:00 - 6:00 PM, location TBA. After your marathon or half-marathon on January 16, join us for our Post-Race Victory Party! It's doesn't seem like you will have the energy to do anything after your race, but you will. Food and drinks available for purchase. Wear your medal!
